The city, on the stage of history, was built between 17 and 13 BC by the Hittite Empire.It has been located as its capital for centuries.Hattuşaş was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1986. Hattuşaş is located 4 km east of Boğazkale district in the southeast of Sungurlu District of Çorum.
